My only complaint about the entire thing is that I wanted more game, I wanted to play it longer but all good things must come to an end, I suppose. 9/10 would play again.. Fantastic game!!I played for 4 hours last night until I got stuck trying to find the cross and the sock. Currently out of food and batteries but I know that if I continue on I will find the items! It only crashed once for me when I first entered the swamps but I luckily saved just before that. I'm so excited for the end of this game and I hope to see more games from the devs in the future. The main game play revolves around finding items around the camp all the while avoiding a crazed maniac that's killed everyone. As long as you check every cabin, you're gonna find everything. There are a small handful of actual puzzles to solve. There is no combat in the game at all. There is not a lot of voice acting in the game, but is there is very well done. The bear costume maniac sounds a lot like Freddy and a female counselor in distress sounded especially chilling. There are a lot of references to different horror franchises including Friday the 13th (of course), Halloween 3, Demonic Toys, Child's Play, and a few others. The whole game takes around 3 hours to finish. One annoying thing was that there was no analog stick support for the controller and using the directional pad was unwelcome.. I bought this game with my last .49 cents on the steam summer sale.) Camp Sunshine is a pixelated slasher game made in RPG Maker. The game had real potential, the strong buildup and the 80's horror refrences were good and all. The killer's one-liners are a little stupid, but not terrible. What really stopped me from playing this game were the quests. You have to collect a bunch of diary pages so you can find quest items. Every quest goes like this:1. Find NPC with a diary page.2. NPC says I need to go on a fetch quest so that I can have the page.3. Rather than saying there's a killer on the loose and that we should go get help, Protagonist accepts the quest.4. Go off and do the quest.5. Come back and the NPC is dead, I simply loot the page from their corpse.6. Repeat until you have all the pages.2/10. Great simple yet not-so-easy horror game full of references to our most beloved horror movies. Couldn't ask for more.The ♥♥♥♥ing bear gives me the chills, though.. Normally I don't write game reviews but I really liked the game, not only because of the homages and references to other classic horror movies that are scattered throughout the game, but it has a good story. For the most part it is a generic horror movie esk game where you take the role as Jez who had just been sent to summer camp only to soon for the entire camp to be attacked by a mysterious killer in a bear costume. The story starts to progress by finding diary notes all around the camp that explains the background of the camp. Although these notes can be kind of annoying to get because most of them are from "fetch quests" it kept me playing because each diary page contained more cutscenes about the past owner and a mysterious curse with his child, Isaac (kinda reminds me of Lakeview Cabin Collection). Another thing I would have to compliment it on is it's soundtrack and how it could make for some of the creepiest momments throughout the game. Aside from the pros, the game did have a couple of problems with crashing when you would activate a secret cutscene, how hard it was to find some items, and the walking was a little rough at times but it did create funny momments walking into the wall after being hit by the killer. Overall, in my opinion, this was worth the $7.99.. THIS GAME!!!I was really reluctant to buy this game, saw it on sale and thought "What the heck, why not give it a try".Honestly the best single player Game I have played in a long while. NOTE: Got this as part of an Ubercrate subscription.Surprisingly creepy 16bit survival horror, using the "slasher on a campground" premise. Awesome atmosphere, between the visuals/sound and the creepy and persistant enemy hunting you. Fetch questing was reasonable, and story was interesting enough to warrant the playthrough. Not long, but probably the right length for what it was. Recommend to stealth fans, horror fans, and retro fans.. Nice little horror game. I like that they didn't force a scary atmosphere with jumpscares all the time, but rather combined a bit of comedy and horror. It is after all a 2D pixel game so you won't get a horror game like Outlast for example, no matter how hard you try. So it was casual, but with some scary elements here and there to stress you up a bit. The Story was interesting too and kept me playing from start to finish on the first playthrough.. I didn't rilly know what to expect going into this game other than it was a sixtien bit horror game. I wrecamend this game it is fun, bloody, story driven, and just all around a great game. I bought this game on sail, as i recamend you do; I would also recamend that you play this game on a harder dificalty than easy as I played on normal.
